Dr Albert van Niekerk is South African born and was trained in Johannesburg in the 1980's and speaks fluent Afrikaans. He immigrated to New Zealand 14 years ago and has been working at Apollo since 2006. Dr van Niekerk is married with two children, is a keen gardener and enjoys fishing in his leisure time.
